More about this Workshop
This is a day for gardeners wanting to learn from a very experienced and thoughtful country gardener, Colleen Southwell, AKA The Garden Curator.
Colleen has created her own beautiful garden on the outskirts of Orange, which has featured in many magazines and on Better Homes and Gardens. Colleen also designs for clients, has created her own Gardening Course, writes a garden column for Graziher Magazine, and shares her extraordinary design and plant knowledge on her social media @thegardencurator.
Being a professional artist, Colleen brings creativity and clever use of colour to all of her gardens.
This will be a larger group of people than the Sunday event, which is more focused on perennials and grasses in the garden.
What you should Bring
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes, bring a hat and sunnies as we will be sitting outside if weather permits.
Gluten Free Options are included in morning tea & lunch.

As country gardener’s we know that a garden is so much more than a collection of pavers and plants – it’s a place for our families to return to, it’s home.
Join us for a conversation about the ingredients that make a country garden sing.
We’ll consider connection to place and ways to bring heart and character into your garden, and learn about weaving common threads to bring the garden together, the use of space to create a sense of journey, and the important roles of a varied planting palette.
Throughout the day, we’ll explore the concepts through friendly and informal conversation with Colleen, Tina and the broader group.
We will also walk through the ‘Cabarfeidh’ Garden and Colleen will illustrate the design ideas used in the garden.
You will leave with a printed booklet – ‘Design Tips for Country Gardens’ and a gift from MRR to take out into the garden on your morning walks.
A welcoming morning tea, lunch from the MRR Kitchen Garden, and a glass or two of champagne will nourish you throughout the day.
