‘Get All The Dirt’ on Gardening in Hot Climates
With Garden Designer Tina Raines
Tina is a Garden Designer based in the Goondiwindi Region of Queensland. Her small village Toobeah is a world away from the temperate climate of the New England Region, where she grew up.
It is this harsh environment that has inspired Tina to design gardens. She is a confessed ‘soil junkie’ having also studied Agriculture.
Tina believes “that a garden is a gift”.
In this workshop, we will spend the morning talking about soils and the important role they play in your garden, how to prepare garden beds, what plants thrive in hot climates and how to maintain plants.
The afternoon session will include drawing up your own garden plans.
You will execute three main design ideas Tina uses with all of her garden designs.
It will be a very practical day, sharing knowledge and learning lots of hints and tips.
Please bring along photos, plans, sketches, and plenty of ideas. A garden is an extension of your home, so tear out things you like/ dislike in glossy mags and screenshot like a mad woman/man!
Delicious home-baked morning tea and lunch from our kitchen garden will be served along with a glass of champagne to get those creative juices flowing!
